A project for the re-opening of the Auckland City Art Gallery in re-projecting the works of with Ruben Paterson through Rick Pearson and Associates.
The task here was to project the artwork given to us from Ruben Paterson (supplied in bit map 4k despite the vector art appearance).
Six different sections would need to be printed for the final section with the need to distort the picture as heavily as possible so that it as only clearly round from one point of view. In total 6 different art works had this applied. The main covered 37 square meters and was ready for the reopening of the Auckland Art Galley in Sept 2011.
And here’s the paper proof of concept.
Unwrapped, in Ahuroa.
